Year 12 School Ball

After consideration of all issues, I can confirm that the 2020 School Ball will be held on Friday 11 September - once again, if health advice and Government operating guidelines for WA public schools allow this.

This year has been a difficult one for everyone but in particular our Year 12 students.

Due to the effects of COVID-19, this group of students has had their studies disrupted as well as significant events that make the final year of school special and memorable.  These include the School Ball and Country Week.

We have always planned to have a school ball later in the year, if health advice and Government operating guidelines for WA public schools allowed.

Recently the Year 12 Prefects have met with me and put their case forward for the School Ball to be held in Term 3 rather than after the WACE exams in Term 4.  The feedback from a number of Year 12 students is that they would not attend the ball if held in December.

I have listened to their point of view and discussed this with the Leadership staff in the school.

After consideration of all issues, I can confirm that the 2020 School Ball will be held on Friday 11 September - once again, if health advice and Government operating guidelines for WA public schools allow this.

All students who attend the School Ball must have Good Standing.

The requirements for Good Standing are attached but of significance is the requirement to have all academic work up to date, regular attendance, no behaviour infringements and the consistent wearing of school uniform.

Any student who demonstartes that they are not able to maintain Good Standing will not be able to attend the Ball.  I encourage you to speak to your child to ensure they are aware of these requirements so there is no disappointment for students or parents/carers.

Specific details of the School Ball will be available next week when Mr Allen (Year 12 Coordinator) is back in the school.

We look forward to an enjoyable and memorable evening for the Year 12 School Ball on Friday 11 September 2020.

Please stay healthy and safe.

Kind regards,

Marisa Del Pin
